Progress Report: Mon, 20 July 2015

After standing pat at 248 lbs after our week in Greece, I managed to get back on track and dropped a total of 5 lbs this past week and weighed in this morning at 243.

I'm sure yesterday's 26-mile jaunt helped, but I also started doing Interval Training on the Adaptive Motion Trainer. I've started at 30 minutes, with 2 minutes at about 50-75% effort and 2 minutes all out as fast as I can get going. Back and forth between the two for a full 30 minutes and you're feeling pretty good afterwards.

I'm still sorting out some strength training but am playing with the possibility of doing Core Training twice a week and upper/lower body twice a week. I'm a big fan of the elastic resistance bands and they've been providing a very good workout. The best part is that I can do it all from home. More to follow when I figure out a good schedule.

On the food front, I still need to work on planning meals. This has probably been the toughest thing so far. We're eating healthier, but it’s a lot of, "What's in the freezer?" I'd like to get to the point where I know what I'm having for dinner tomorrow and the next day. I also need to get more fiber in my diet. The last two weeks have been relatively fiber free...not good.
